Is it easy to maintain?
Yes, it is very easy to look after! It requires very little maintenance, no painting, no staining or sealing. Simply use a little soapy water for the occasional clean.
Are the products fire resistant?
BM Decking chose to use the Fensys product, not only for its durability and look but also for fire safety. The Fensys polymer materials have been tested by Fire Technology Services (a UKAS accredited company) in accordance with BS 476: Part 7: 1987.
Their material, specifically rigid PVC exceeded and was certified to the requirements of BS 476: Part 7: 1987 (as amended) Class 1.
Is the decking environmentally friendly?
Fensys utilise co-extrusion technology and their own in-house recycling centre. The majority of products are manufactured with a high-grade polymer outer layer and a partially recycled core.
How long have you been installing decks?
BM Decking have over 15 years of decking installation experience. We are installation partners of Fensys products that are manufactured by PAL Group (Operations) Ltd, a company with over 30 years experience in thermoplastics under the manufacturing standard ISO 9001.
Do you follow British Standards?
Yes, because we utilise Fensys products all the work has been done for us at manufacture stage. Fensys handrail products have been tested by official testers Lloyds British Testing Ltd in accordance with the specifications set out in BS6180: 2011
Can the deck boards become slippy?
The deck boards have a raised grain effect grip, performs even in wet conditions. Accredited testers have tested them, for slip resistance, Grip Potential Ltd in accordance with BS7976-2.
Is there a warranty?
Our materials are supplied by Fensys. Their products have security of a 10 year limited warranty on their 100% polymer products. The sub-frame is engineered to last; even the brackets are made from steel. This creates an exceptionally strong base that is non-flammable and durable for many years.
What areas do you cover?
BM Decking are based in the West Midlands. This is ideal as we can easily travel to all areas to holiday or residential parks as well as domestic homes & gardens throughout the UK.
What is the decking built on?
Decking is constructed on galvanised steel sub frames using 2 way corner brackets and half-tee cross bearer brackets, therefore making the foundation of the deck rot resistant. The sub-frame calculation was provided by Hancock Wheeldon & Ascough approved structural engineers to standards set out in BS6399 Part 1 and tested by Lloyds British Testing Ltd.
